The situation
The brief was to enter the Czech offshore casino vertical with no existing property. The head
term, “zahraniční casino online”, sits at KD 50 — Ahrefs estimates roughly 84 referring
domains to reach the top 10, which is a meaningful barrier for a domain that does not exist yet.
Building fresh would have meant months before the site had enough authority to rank for anything
commercial.
What I did
Bought the authority instead of waiting for it. I acquired an expired domain with a usable
existing profile for $600 and launched the vertical onto it. In a market where the head term
demands ~84 referring domains, the arithmetic strongly favours acquisition — provided the
domain's history is clean, which is the part of expired-domain work that actually takes the time.
From there the build was conventional and deliberately narrow: a tight cluster of pages around
one commercial intent, Czech-language content written for Czech players rather than translated,
and JSON-LD schema throughout.
The result
Within 90 days: 174 clicks, 23.6K impressions, 11.9 average position, verified
independently in SEO Gets at 175 clicks and 24.4K impressions.
Average position 11.9 is the number to read here. The site is at the top of page two on a
vertical it entered three months ago from nothing — close enough to page one that the remaining
work is incremental rather than structural.
The query table shows the build stayed focused: traffic clusters around zahraniční online
casino and its close variants rather than scattering, which means the site is being understood
as being about one thing.
